This started life as a screenplay that was selected for the EU-funded ‘Northern Lights’ script development program in Helsinki. However, this story has its own mind, its own plans and is now firmly emerging as YA Fiction.

Deeply Gothic, this is a time-split story combining historical fiction and modern-day macabre manifestations. Teenager Hazel Blackheath finds herself at the heart of a mystery surrounding a family she never knew she had. 

Drawn from her world in trailer park America, Hazel is lured to the heart of the Black Country where she descends not only into the region’s history but also the legacy of a family her mother had kept secret.

This is the culmination of all those childhood hours watching every Hammer Horror film I could get my hands on…
